Margaret Jean Armishaw
b. June 22, 1921 - d. July 5, 2010¹
Margaret was born in Portage La Prairie June 22, 1921. Marg was the middle member of a family of two boys and two girls and said, "We had very loving, supportive parents and family."³
She attended Hood (elementary) School; the school was named after her father's uncle, Victor Hood. After her schooling in the country, she attended Portage Collegiate.³
Following her education, she was employed by the Federal Government and worked at the Post Office in Portage La Prairie.

On July 14, 1944 she married Grant Lamb who farmed south of Portage and also did construction work. They lived in Portage La Prairie and she continued to work part time at the Post Office.
Margaret and Grant had a very interesting life as Grant was a music lover and many people visited from all over Canada. As a fiddler, he competed eight times at Shelbourne, Ontario and was a friend of Don Messer's. Among other things, Margaret volunteered at the Threshermen's Reunion in Austin, Manitoba for 25 years.³ She lived in Portage la Prairie until her death.
