Luella was born in the Regina District and grew up on the family farm in the Rose Plains District. After high school, she moved to Calgary where she remained for 60 years before returning to Regina in 2002. While in Calgary she began working at the C.P.R. Palliser Hotel as an elevator operator which she enjoyed greatly and had the opportunity to meet the Queen and many other dignitaries. After working at the hotel, she held many different jobs but the one she enjoyed the most was working at the gift shop in the Calgary Tower; she made many friends and met many interesting people there. When she returned to Regina, she lived on her own, in Marian Chateau and then Gardiner Point Personal Care Home, a home she enjoyed with much comfort and companionship.
She died peacefully after a brief illness in her 94th year.²
